2004 election defeat
Mr. Nara Chandrababu naidu came back to power for the second term in 1999 with a decent majority. He did his best to develop all sectors equally. But as we all know that Indian budgets are a gamble of the monsoons,he could not do much to the agricultural sector.
During this term there were severe droughts and floods that hit the state and the budgets, he was helpless then.
Nara Chandrababu Naidu is the President of Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh. He is the Chief Minister designate of Andhra Pradesh after TDP and BJP alliance won 106 of the 175 Assembly constituencies in the 2014 elections.
Chandrababu Naidu served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1995 till 2004 and has been the leader of opposition till 2014.
Rythu Poru Bata
Telugu Desam Party president Chandrababu Naidu staged a 22-day long State-wide Pada Yatra in Andhra Pradesh in an attempt to mount pressure on the Government to come to the aid of farmers who lost their crops due to dry spell. Chandrababu Naidu kicked off the pada yatra at Kothakota village in Anantapur district on November 2, 2011.
Vastunna Me Kosam
Vastunna Mee Kosam – Chandrababu Naidu’s Padayatra Chandrababu Naidu has staged a padayatra across the state from October 2, 2012 till January 26, 2013. The padayatra went on for 117 days where he covered over 2500 kms.
Stand on Telangana
Chandrababu Naidu maintains that Telangana and Andhra regions are equally important to him and hence he takes a neutral stand on the issue of formation of a separate Telangana state.
Against Babli project
In July 2010, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP leaders held a bus yatra to the opposing construction of Babli and 14 illegal projects across the Godavari river by Maharashtra government. Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with party MLAs and MPs who are in custody of the Maharashtra police at the ITI Centre, will observe a day’s hunger strike on Monday in solidarity with the party’s bandh.They were jailed. The Maharashtra government is in a dilemma about what to do with the TD leaders who are in custody as Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu and the other legislators have also decided not to apply for bail on Monday.
After spending two days in judicial custody,Later, Naidu was sent to Hyderabad in a special flight by Maharashtra government.
Against Brijesh kumar committee
Expressing concern over the ill-effects of Brijesh Kumar tribunal verdict, Telugu Desam president Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that the delta region of coastal Andhra would turn into desert. He alleged the state government had utterly failed to protect the rights of the state in Krishna waters distribution.
Demanded the Chief Minister to take immediate steps to prevent the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal Award on Krishna water distribution from becoming operational, and insist that the Centre appoint a fresh tribunal.
